The Russian Black Sea fleet held search and rescue drills in the Black Sea, near Sevastopol on Monday, as part of the navy's ongoing military exercises.

During the exercise, airplane and helicopters performed a search operation for the wrecked submarine 'Novorossiysk'. The area where the submarine was located was marked off with special air beacons. After an SOS signal, rescue powerboats and the ship 'Kommuna' arrived at the submarine site. 'Kommuna' is equipped with a device that allows it to lift submarines from the bottom of the sea.
